Slope Calculator Guide
Find the slope quickly from any two coordinate points.
How the Formula Works
Slope is calculated as the change in y divided by the change in x between two points (rise over run). A positive slope rises left to right, a negative slope falls, a zero slope is flat, and an undefined slope is a vertical line.
Common Uses
Used in algebra and coordinate geometry coursework, and practically for describing the steepness of roads, ramps, or roofs.
Important Note
Vertical lines have an undefined slope.
