How LAT/GAT results are used
Unlike a university’s own entry test, LAT and GAT results aren’t tied to one specific institution — HEC ETC issues a score report that you then submit to whichever law college (for LAT) or postgraduate program (for GAT) you’re applying to. Each university sets its own minimum score and evaluates your application using its own criteria, so the same score can be treated differently by different institutions.
Result validity and reattempts
Because LAT and GAT are offered in multiple cycles through the year, if your score doesn’t meet your target program’s requirement, you can typically register for a later cycle to attempt again, subject to HEC ETC’s policy for that test. Check how long a given result stays valid for admission purposes, since this can vary depending on the admission cycle you’re applying into.
After receiving your result
Download and safely store your official score report as soon as it’s available, since universities generally require you to submit this directly as part of your application rather than accepting a screenshot or unofficial copy.
